Crafting art by hand has always been second nature to me. I enjoy sharing my art as offerings to the world by making and selling wire jewelry and seasonal apparel at various pop up events throughout New York City. Ankh Amen Goods is a boutique handmade accessories and fashion apparel brand that seeks to elevate your personal style. I am heavily inspired by design elements that originated from West Africa and ancient Kemet. My practice is an embodiment of the African word “Sankofa” which teaches us to go back and learn from our past to ensure a strong future. I view my works as small tokens of wearable art history and by reaching into the past and employing these ancient motifs in the present, I believe that I am venerating my ancestors and celebrating their teachings for generations to come.
